Affixing To The Fundamentals From Time Management 101

Not managing time in the right way is one thing, but not knowing how to go about improving the situation is another. There is an answer for people like this, and it is really as simple as sticking to the basics. And that’s what time management 101 is going to proffer you.

First of all, what you need to get your head around is that all talk of time management is basically drivel. That’s for this simple reason: no matter what gives, there will never be more than 24 hours in a day. So what does this mean: well, it means that you can’t direct time per se, but that you can handle yourself.

And that’s what it means to think outside the box. So when it comes to time management 101, think about what you can do to get yourself to do the things you want or need to get done. Sometimes you may not realize how to manage yourself because of a basic lack of motivation. If you set up a list of goals and some rewards for accomplishing them, you will have something to work for. And that’s a good step forward.

One thing you should do instantly is start establishing some routines. Set some up for your work hours, then for your leisure hours as well. Going through these routines for a couple of weeks will doubtless get them to become more or less automatic, so getting through with them will become easier and easier as time goes by.

Another thing you should examine carefully is the number of hours you seem to devote to various tasks. Are you one of those people who keeps doing a lot and yet never seems to accomplish much? One way to solve this problem is to place some time limits on your various chores. And list these chores in accordance with their importance to you.

Watch out for time wasted while waiting for something or other. This is also a crucial time management 101 matter. Are you sitting in the doctor’s waiting room for a long time? If you foresee this, take a book with you, or your diary to keep yourself busy with. This way the periods spent in waiting can be a productive time for you.

So take a step back and take a good look at how you are spending your time: this is basically the best way to run time. Figure out where you are doing what on any given day. Then get organized and do things as best as you can to finish each chore on time.
