Differences in Time Clock Systems

The second issue generally requires unique monitoring by the employer, such as cameras installed where the device is set.

For those employers truly concerned with their worker’s entering in their buddy’s information, the bar code swipe time clock is an excellent second option. Either using the magnetic card or bar code, the employer must issue an identification badge specific to the employee. Though the worker cannot enter in a fellow co-workers information, the company does have to issue the card which can be costly, especially considering that employees can and do lose things. Also, most providers do not offer a verification feature like the keypad entry. None-the-less, this option does work for those wanting to keep specific and accurate records of their employees.

Of the four main entry methods the two most expensive are fingerprint entry and biometrics. Both record keeping devices provide an exact detailed account to the employee’s coming and going, and cannot be faked. Fingerprint will, however only scan clean fingers, while the most expensive biometrics can scan the whole hand, clean or dirty.

Any of the four electronic time clock options will increase a company’s productivity and save money with accurate and waste-less timekeeping, and while knowing helpful information about each type is important, none of them can replace an employers knowledge of the best fit for their company.
