Having trouble about procrastination? EFT can help you get rid of it. Procrastination takes place when you set aside time do something and then, consciously do something else instead… and it can be distressing. It can take you into trouble. For instance, you tell yourself, “I’m going to get this task done now” and the very next thought is a distraction such as, “but I’ll check my email or facebook before I begin” and the pattern repeats. Read on to determine how you can apply EFT for conquering your procrastination and other harmful habits.
If you’re not acquainted about EFT, you must know that it works with your body’s energy system. It is a type of acupuncture which uses gentle taps instead of needles along the meridian points to get stuck energy moving again. EFT tapping is a gentle technique that works on the emotions underneath the behavior and making a habit of getting things done.
Before EFT tapping, ask yourself: How would my life improve if I stopped procrastinating? What is the problem of moving forward? Why don’t I feel secure about moving forward? Then, find out a necessary task which you have been procrastinating. This task should be something which needs to be finished but you just haven’t got around to doing. Make certain that it is specific and well defined. Write the task down and have it handy to look while saying the following set-up phrases: “Even though I keep procrastinating, I truly and fully love myself”, “Even though I would rather not do (this activity), I choose to feel calm and confident, “Even if I am tempted to procrastinate, I decide to do this (activity) right now.
Tap on the following meridian points: karate chop point, top of head, eyebrows, side of eyes, under eyes, under nose, chin point, collar bones, under arms, and wrists. For the follow-up statements, you use the negative parts of the set-up statements for the first round or two, and then you use the positive ones for another round. An example of a negative statement from the above is “I keep procrastinating” and an example of a positive statements is “I choose to do (this activity) right now.”
Our behavior is shaped by our actions and thoughts. Apply the above EFT tapping to break your habit of procrastinating.
